The LED light on your Tibber Pulse shows the device's current status. Its colour and blinking pattern can help you identify connection, installation or power issues.
What do the LED colours mean?
| LED colour | Status |
|---|---|
| Green | Pulse is ready to be connected |
| Blinking green | Pulse is being installed |
| Blinking bright blue | Pulse is connecting to Tibber's servers |
| Blue | Pulse is working normally |
| Blinking purple | Your electricity meter isn't supplying enough power |
| Blinking yellow | A software update is being installed |
| Red | No Wi-Fi connection |
| Blinking red | No connection to Tibber's servers |
| White | Power supply issue |
| No light | Pulse isn't receiving power |
Pulse is installing or updating
If the LED is green, blinking green, blinking bright blue or blinking yellow, Pulse is starting up, connecting or installing a software update.
Wait for the process to finish and avoid disconnecting Pulse during installation or updates.
Pulse isn't receiving enough power
If the LED is blinking purple, white or completely off, Pulse may not be receiving enough power.
Check that:
- Pulse is correctly connected to your electricity meter's P1 or HAN port.
- The meter's data port is activated, if required.
- The cable is securely connected.
Some electricity meters don't supply enough power through their data port. In these cases, you can use an external micro-USB power supply.
The LED is white
If your Pulse shows a white LED, try the following:
- Disconnect Pulse from both your electricity meter and USB power supply.
- Wait 60 minutes.
- Connect Pulse to USB power only and wait 10 minutes.
- Reconnect Pulse to your electricity meter.
Pulse has a connection issue
If the LED is red or blinking red, Pulse is having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi or Tibber's servers.
Check that:
- You're using a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- The Wi-Fi signal is strong enough where Pulse is installed.
- Your Wi-Fi password is correct.
- Your internet connection is working.
If the problem continues, try reconnecting Pulse through the Tibber app.
