Most integrations can be connected directly through Power-ups in the Tibber app. Simply select the device you want to connect and follow the instructions.
Some integrations require a few extra steps, such as additional hardware or specific settings. For Solis, you'll need a Tibber Bridge and a compatible datalogger.
You can connect your Solis inverter through the Tibber Bridge, but this only works with the S2-WL-ST datalogger.
What do I need?
- A Tibber Bridge, available in the Tibber Store of your market. Only one Bridge is supported per home.
- A Solis S5 Hybrid or S6 Hybrid inverter.
- The S2-WL-ST datalogger.
- Modbus TCP enabled in the correct mode.
- A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network that both your inverter and Bridge are connected to.
Check your datalogger first
Using an incompatible datalogger is a common reason why the connection fails.
You can check your model in the SolisCloud app:
- Tap Plant in the bottom-left corner.
- Select your installation.
- Go to Device → Datalogger.
- Select your datalogger. The model number appears at the top of the table.
If the model isn't S2-WL-ST, it won't work with this Tibber integration. You can purchase a compatible datalogger through your installer or an authorized Solis dealer.
Enable Modbus TCP
Enable Modbus TCP through your inverter's control panel or web interface.
Select little-endian (CDAB) Standard Modbus mode.
The SunSpec mode doesn't work with Tibber because it's read-only, meaning Tibber can't control your inverter.
Solis only allows one Modbus TCP connection at a time. If another system is already connected, the Bridge won't be able to find your inverter.
Disable Solis AI
Solis AI controls your battery independently and can interfere with Tibber's smart control.
Disable this feature in the Solis app before connecting your inverter.
Connect your inverter
- Plug the Bridge into a power outlet and connect it to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Open the Tibber app and go to Power-ups to connect your Tibber Bridge, if you haven't already.
- Go to Power-ups → Solar → Solis and follow the instructions in the app.
Can't find Solis in the list? Enable Tibber Labs under You → More → Tibber Labs → New Power-ups.
Integrations in Tibber Labs are still in development and may be less stable.
What can I expect?
Once connected, a Battery and Solar gizmo will appear on your home screen. Live data updates every 10 seconds.
Seeing "Unknown" in your Solis Power-up? This means your battery capacity is missing. Enter it in the Solis Power-up settings. You can also update the capacity here if you've expanded your battery system.
Grid Rewards for EV charging will be disabled when you connect a battery through the Bridge.
Keep your Tibber Bridge plugged in. Without it, Tibber can no longer control your system.
My inverter isn't found
Check the following:
- Make sure no other system is connected to your inverter through Modbus TCP.
- Are your Bridge and inverter connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network?
- Make sure you're not using a guest network.
- Are you using Wi-Fi extenders or powerline adapters? These can prevent devices from discovering each other on your local network.
- Temporarily disable any VPNs or ad blockers.
- Check that your inverter and datalogger firmware are up to date.
- Restart your inverter and Tibber Bridge.
Still can't find your inverter? Select Manual connection in the Tibber app and enter your inverter's IP address.
