Most integrations can be connected directly through Power-ups in the Tibber app. Simply select the device you want to connect and follow the instructions.
Some integrations require a few extra steps, such as additional hardware or specific settings. For SolaX, you'll need a Tibber Bridge and a compatible dongle.
You can connect your SolaX inverter through the Tibber Bridge. The Bridge automatically searches for your inverter on your home network.
What do I need?
- A Tibber Bridge, available in the Tibber Store of your market. Only one Bridge is supported per home.
- A supported inverter model: X1 Fit G4, X1 Hybrid G4, X2 Hybrid G4, X3 Fit G4, X3 Hybrid G4, X3 Hybrid G4 Pro or X3 IES.
- A compatible dongle with the required firmware.
- A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network that both your inverter and Bridge are connected to.
Modbus TCP is enabled by default on supported SolaX models, so you don't need to configure it.
Which dongles are supported?
| Dongle | Minimum firmware |
|---|---|
| Pocket WiFi 2.0/Plus (SX/SJ) | 3.005.01 |
| Pocket WiFi 3.0 (SV/SR) | 3.005.01 |
| Pocket WiFi 3.0 (SS) | 3.031.02 |
| Pocket WiFi 4.0 | 001.11 |
| Pocket LAN 2.0 (SL) | 3.007.02 |
| Pocket LAN 3.0 (SY) | 3.007.02 |
| Pocket WiFi+LAN (SN) | 1.001.20 |
| Pocket WiFi+LAN 2.0 (XW) | 001.31 |
| Pocket WiFi+4GM (SM) | 1.001.23 |
Using an older firmware version? Update it through the SolaX app or contact your installer before connecting.
Connect your inverter
- Plug the Bridge into a power outlet and connect it to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Open the Tibber app and go to Power-ups to connect your Tibber Bridge, if you haven't already.
- Select SolaX from the list of Power-ups and follow the instructions in the app.
Can't find SolaX in the list? Enable Tibber Labs under You → More → Tibber Labs → New Power-ups.
Integrations in Tibber Labs are still in development and may be less stable.
What can I expect?
Once connected, a Battery and Solar gizmo will appear on your home screen. Live data updates every 10 seconds. You can hide these gizmos through your home screen settings.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Grid Rewards for EV charging will be disabled when you connect a battery through the Bridge.
- Have a second inverter dedicated to your solar panels? Its production won't be included in your battery overview. You can use a Pulse CT to monitor this production separately.
- Keep your Tibber Bridge plugged in. Without it, Tibber can no longer control your system.
Connecting your inverter to Tibber doesn't affect your manufacturer's warranty by itself. The manufacturer's warranty terms still apply.
My inverter isn't found
SolaX supports a maximum of two Modbus connections at the same time, including Modbus RTU. Other monitoring or control systems may prevent Tibber from connecting.
First, make sure other energy management systems or AI modes are disabled on your inverter. Your inverter can only be controlled by one system at a time.
Then check your network:
- Are your Bridge and inverter connected to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network?
- Make sure you're not using a guest network. Devices on guest networks often can't communicate with each other.
