Having trouble with your Tibber Bridge? Follow these troubleshooting steps to get it working again.
Check the LED lights
The LED on your Bridge can help you identify what's happening.

|---|---|
| White | Bridge is starting up |
| Green | Bridge is connected and active |
| Blinking green | Bridge is being paired |
| Blue | Bridge is working normally |
| Blinking orange | Software update in progress — don't unplug |
| Blinking red/purple | No Wi-Fi connection |
| Blinking red/yellow | No connection to Tibber's servers |
| Multiple colours | Bridge needs to be reset and reconnected |

Restart Bridge
A simple restart may help restore the connection.
- Unplug Bridge from the power outlet.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Plug Bridge back in.
- Wait a few minutes for the LED to turn blue.
Check your Wi-Fi connection
Tibber Bridge only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi with WPA or WPA2 security. It doesn't support 5 GHz or WPA3-only networks.
If Bridge can't connect, check the following:
- Mesh networks: If your router combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under one network name, temporarily disable 5 GHz or create a separate 2.4 GHz network.
- Band steering: Temporarily disable band steering or roaming assistant in your router settings.
- Network name and password: Make sure your network name (SSID) is no longer than 32 characters and your password is no longer than 63 characters.
- WPA3: Switch your router to WPA2 security if you're using WPA3.
Also make sure Bridge and your battery inverter are connected to the same local network.
Connect Bridge to a different Wi-Fi network
If you've changed your router or Wi-Fi network, update the connection in the Tibber app.
- Open the Tibber app.
- Go to Power-ups and select Tibber Bridge.
- Open Wi-Fi connection.
- Follow the instructions to connect Bridge to your new network.
If you unplug Bridge and move it to another location, it will automatically try to reconnect to its saved Wi-Fi network.
Reset Bridge
Only reset Bridge if the previous troubleshooting steps haven't resolved the issue.
To reset Bridge, follow this power-cycle sequence:
- First connection: Plug Bridge in and wait for the LED to change from white to yellow.
- Second to fourth connection: Unplug and reconnect Bridge each time, waiting for the LED to change from white to green.
- Fifth connection: Unplug and reconnect Bridge, then wait for the LED to change from white to purple. Wait 15 seconds.
- Sixth connection: Unplug Bridge and plug it back in.
After the reset, Bridge should appear again as a Power-up in the Tibber app.
Go to Power-ups → Tibber Bridge and follow the instructions to reconnect it.
