Once you've connected your car or EV charger to the Tibber app, you can enable Smart Charging. Tibber then automatically schedules charging at the most cost-effective times.
How do I enable Smart Charging?
- Open the Tibber app.
- Select your connected car or EV charger.
- Turn on Smart Charging.
- Set your departure time and desired battery level.
Tibber will automatically calculate the most cost-effective charging schedule.
Adjusting your charging settings
Depending on your car or EV charger, you can adjust:
- Departure time: When your car needs to be ready.
- Desired battery level: How much you want to charge your battery.
- Maximum charging limit: The highest battery level your car should reach.
Not all cars and EV chargers support the same settings.
You can change your charging preferences at any time in the Tibber app. Your updated settings will be used for upcoming charging sessions.
Why isn't my car charging immediately?
When Smart Charging is enabled, Tibber may delay charging until electricity prices are lower.
If you need to charge immediately, select Charge Now in the app. Smart Charging will temporarily pause and automatically become active again the next time you plug in your car.
My charging settings aren't working
If your settings aren't saved or Smart Charging isn't working as expected, check that your car or EV charger is still connected to Tibber.
If the problem continues, contact Support below or via the chat in the app.
