Does Smart Charging seem to be inactive? First, check whether this is expected behaviour. When Smart Charging is enabled, Tibber may intentionally delay charging until electricity prices are lower.
This means your car might not start charging immediately, even though a charging session has already been scheduled.
Check Smart Charging
Make sure Smart Charging is enabled for your car or EV charger and that the connection is still active in the Tibber app.
Check your charging settings
Smart Charging uses your departure time and desired battery level to create a charging schedule.
If you haven't set a departure time or your battery has already reached the desired level, a new charging session may not be scheduled.
Why isn't my car charging immediately?
This is often expected. Smart Charging automatically calculates the most cost-effective times to charge and may schedule charging for later.
If you need to charge immediately, select Charge Now in the Tibber app.
My car wasn't charged on time
Check that:
- Your departure time is set correctly.
- Your desired battery level is achievable within the available time.
- Your car and EV charger are online.
Some cars and EV chargers have their own charging schedules or limits that can interfere with Smart Charging.
Still having problems?
Make sure your car or EV charger is supported and correctly connected to Tibber.
If the problem continues, contact Support below or via the chat in the app. Include your car's brand and model, your EV charger's brand and model (if applicable), and when you expected charging to start.
This helps us investigate the issue more quickly.
