An annual settlement compares your actual energy costs with the payments you've already made. Whether you receive one depends on your energy contract and payment model.
When will I receive an annual settlement?
Paying a fixed monthly amount
If you make fixed monthly payments, you'll generally receive an annual settlement after the relevant billing period.
It compares your total payments with your actual energy costs.
If your contract ends before the annual settlement, you may receive a final settlement for the remaining period.
Paying for your actual consumption
If you pay monthly for your actual energy consumption, you generally won't receive an annual settlement. Your monthly invoices already reflect your energy usage and costs.
Depending on your market, additional settlements or adjustments may apply, for example if you generate electricity with solar panels.
Will I need to pay extra or receive a refund?
If you make fixed monthly payments, the settlement shows whether you've paid enough to cover your actual energy costs.
- Paid more than your actual costs? You'll receive a credit or refund.
- Paid less than your actual costs? You'll need to pay the remaining amount.
How credits and refunds are handled depends on your market and contract.
Where can I find my settlement?
You'll receive an email when your settlement is available.
You can generally find your electricity invoices and settlements in the Tibber app under You → Invoices.
For other energy products, the location of your settlement may differ.
How does the settlement work in my country?
Settlement periods, billing arrangements and rules for solar energy vary by market.
For the details that apply to your contract, select your market in the bottom-right corner of this page to visit your local Tibber Support Center.
