With Grid Rewards, you help keep the electricity grid balanced and receive compensation in return. During a Grid Rewards session, Tibber may temporarily charge or discharge your home battery.
How does Grid Rewards work?
When the electricity grid needs extra flexibility, Tibber can automatically control your home battery. We always take your battery's settings and limitations into account.
What do I need?
To participate in Grid Rewards, you need:
- A Tibber energy contract.
- A supported home battery.
- A home battery connected to the Tibber app.
Grid Rewards is only available for batteries that support this feature.
How do I sign up?
If your home battery is eligible for Grid Rewards, you can sign up through the Tibber app. Follow the instructions in the app to enable the feature.
Can I turn off Grid Rewards?
Grid Rewards is part of Smart Control and can't be turned off separately in your battery settings.
If you no longer want to participate in Grid Rewards, you'll need to turn off Smart Control entirely. This also means Tibber will no longer automatically control your battery for other smart features.
Which home batteries are supported?
Grid Rewards is available for a limited number of home batteries. Check the supported batteries in the Tibber app for the latest information on compatible brands and models.
I have a question about my compensation
Grid Rewards compensation varies depending on the program and market. You can find the latest terms and information about any payouts in the Tibber app.
