A Tibber energy contract can't be transferred directly to another person. If someone else needs to become the contract holder, they must sign up for a new energy contract.
Transferring the contract to my partner
You can't change the contract holder to your partner or another person, even if you live at the same address.
The new contract holder must sign up for their own Tibber account and energy contract.
What happens to the existing contract depends on the switching and cancellation procedures in your country.
When can the name be changed?
We can update the name on an existing contract if you've officially changed your name, for example after marriage, divorce or a legal name change.
Contact Support below or via the chat in the app. We may ask for documentation confirming your name change.
What happens when a new contract is created?
A new contract is treated as a new sign-up. This means the existing contract must end and a new one must begin.
Depending on your market, this may affect existing contract periods, referral rewards or other benefits.
For the specific conditions and procedures in your country, select your market in the bottom-right corner of this page.
Moving to a new home?
If you're moving out and someone else is taking over the property, you don't need to transfer your energy contract.
The new resident can sign up for their own Tibber contract.
For instructions on ending your contract when moving, select your market in the bottom-right corner of this page to visit your local Tibber Support Center.
