Pulse CT Troubleshooting

Updated over a month ago

Having issues with your Pulse CT? Here’s how you can check and fix the most common problems yourself.

Check the Basics

Are the CT clamps installed correctly?

  • The CT clamps in your electrical panel should be properly attached and oriented.

  • This installation must be done by a certified electrician for safety and accurate readings.

Is your Pulse Bridge connected to WiFi?

  • Without WiFi, your Pulse CT won’t be able to send data to the Tibber app.

  • Check your router and make sure the connection is stable.

Seeing Negative Numbers?

Is your Pulse CT showing negative (minus) numbers instead of positive readings?

Here’s how to fix it:

  1. Unplug the Pulse Bridge from the power socket.

  2. Rotate it 180 degrees (half a turn).

  3. Plug it back in.

This restarts your Pulse Bridge and helps it reinterpret the data correctly from the Pulse CT.

How to Reset Pulse CT

If problems persist, you might need to reset your Pulse CT and/or the Pulse Bridge.

To reset your Pulse CT:

  1. Remove one of the batteries for 5 seconds.

  2. Put the battery back in for 5 seconds.

  3. Repeat this process three times in total.

When you see a continuous light, your Pulse CT has been reset and is ready to pair with your Pulse Bridge again.

Important:
These steps apply only to the Pulse CT. If you have a different Pulse model, please check the specific troubleshooting guide for your device.
